Rudi
Michelson
Rudi founded Monsoon Communications in March 1999 after working as head
of public affairs for Transurban City Link Limited. At Transurban he was
responsible for educating the public and managing issues during the concession
deed and construction of Melbourne's fully electronic $2 billion toll
road. Prior to that, Rudi was the Public Affairs Manager at the Plastics
and Chemicals Industries Association (PACIA). BBus (RMIT), Graduate Diploma
in Applied Finance and Investments, Fellow of Finsia (Financial Services
Institute of Australia – formerly Securities Institute).
Emma Power
Emma has been a journalist with Channel Seven News Melbourne for the past 13 years, covering news and human interest stories. For the past five years she has focused on the health and technology round which has required her to initiate, research, write and produce pieces for Australia’s highest rating 6 pm news market. Aside from news she has been heavily involved in the annual Royal Children's Hospital appeal as a reporter and presenter. She has also been involved in documentary production for the network producing a one hour special on the plight of two Iraqi orphans in Melbourne, "Brothers in Arms", which screened in 2003. Prior to working at Channel Seven she worked with the WIN TV Network in country Victoria after completing a newspaper cadetship at the Geelong Advertiser.
Terry Maher
Terry has over 35-years experience as a journalist and a public relations
strategist. He wrote the first book on Alan Bond and has written for the
Daily Mail (London), The Australian Financial Review, The Age, The Australian,
BRW, Australian Business, The Bulletin, The Canberra Times, was deputy
business editor of The Sunday Herald and editor of The Melbourne Times.
He has a certificate in PR Strategy and Planning from RMIT, is an Associate
Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a Member of the Public
Relations Institute of Australia and the Melbourne Press Club.
Matthew Wright
Matthew is a graduate of Deakin University after completing a Bachelor of Arts with majors in both media and communications and public relations. Before joining the team at Monsoon he worked on the Michelin and McDonald’s accounts for DDB Group’s Mango Communications. He has also further refined his writing prowess with online music journal Wireless Bollinger, conducting interviews and composing feature stories. Matthew’s role at Monsoon sees him assisting consultants with tasks such as organisation of investor events and pitching stories to journalists while ensuring the office is operating without a hitch.
Lou Caruana
Lou Caruana is an experienced public relations practitioner with wide
ranging experience in financial and business reporting and has specialised
in IT and telcos, biotechnology, mining and manufacturing. Lou has worked
as a strategic adviser to major Australian companies and his public relations
experience includes strategic counsel, media liaison, product launches
and events management. He worked for The Australian Financial Review,
The Times, The Sunday Times, The Daily Express, The Australian and Australian
Mining magazine. Lou holds a Bachelor of Arts (Communications) from Mitchell
College (Charles Sturt University) majoring in economics and political
science.
